The unique design of the Benefon handsets allows for tracking of their precise location based on the GPS coordinates but also ensures that the user can call for help in case of an emergency.

When the BeneGuard button is pressed (located on top of the GPS device), several interesting response events can take place.

Initially, the handset itself will utilise the Telematics protocol to send an emergency SMS message (with specially formatted content) to the monitoring centre. This can be our partner SMC, customer's internal provider, our own monitoring solution called BeneTrack or simply any person with a mobile phone.

If the SMC monitoring centre is used, the user will be contacted via the phone to establish the nature of the emergency. Of course, the means of response and the required call protocol is to be fine-tuned with SMC - all included in the contract cost. The operator can contact police immediately or upon failure to establish contact with the user, etc.

The Telematics message contains the handset's coordinates therefore the deployment of security personnel is quick and efficient - they will always be directed to the last-known location of the handset and hence the user.

Our own monitoring server - BeneTrack enables our customers to establish their own monitoring centre. The software fuinctionality is compatible with a standard monitoring centre - including mapping, message logging and reporting. Handsets can be contacted via the SMS and their position can be updated via a custome schedule with full mapping displayed on screen.

Apart from the ability of the Benefon handsets to contact monitoring centres, they are also capable of making calls to specified numbers as soon as the emergency is activated. Therefore, when the monitoring centre is contacted by the handset, it is also possible to place the call to the duty manager or a security officer on duty. The same protocol can be taken over by the SMC staff.

In other words, emergency monitoring provides a peace of mind to your staff knowing that if they feel threatened, help can be dispatched immediately - to their exact location. This is the primary application of Benefon devices as appreciated by countless government and enterprise customers all over the world.
